October 2008

Welcome to the Davis Family Blog. Finally, I decided it's time to do this so that I can keep our family and friends updated on our family!

A. Bernie and I had a great visit to California a few weeks ago. We stayed with Debbie and Mike, but we also got to visit Grandpa and Busha, Mackenzie and Jim, and Bob and Letrice ( Mark's parents). All that in just 4 days!

It was so much fun to watch Grandpa and Busha doting on Alex. Alex enjoyed the attention equally.

After lunch, Grandpa and Alex tried to take a nap together, but Alex didn't sleep much. When I thought Grandpa was sleeping, he opened his eyes and warily said "I'm black and blue!" I didn't understand his joke until he explained that Alex is not a good napping partner, on account of all the poking, kicking, and hair pulling. I love it that Grandpa is still in good spirits.

We had a great Halloween this year. I am not sure we will ever top Alex's first costume as a garden gnome - most everyone was calling him the "Travelocity" gnome - whatever you call it it, it was cute.

Pearl was very excited to be a mermaid (not Ariel, just a regular mermaid). Note the gorgeous strands of pearls on her neck and wrists.

Our church held its first annual "Trunk or Treat" parking lot party for the kids. The kids had a great time. Alex won first place in the costume contest! I went as Angelina Ballerina in case you can't tell.

When my arms were tired of holding the gnome, he sat in his stroller. Lots of people did a double take, thinking he was not real - just a part of the decor.

The next night, our friends hosted a "grownup" Halloween party. Mark and I are the Simpsons pictured here with our friends Doug and Pilar.
